abc.net.au — "Some 450 million years ago, sharks and humans shared a common ancestor, making sharks our distant cousins. And according to recent research, this kinship is evident in our DNA, as at least one shark species possesses several genes that are nearly identical to those in humans."

(Matthew 24:3-6) 3 While he was sitting upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately, saying: “Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?” 4 And in answer Jesus said to them: “Look out that nobody misleads YOU; 5 for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many. 6 YOU are going to hear of wars and reports of wars; see that YOU are not terrified. For these things must take place, but the end is not yet. Here are some difficult questons for you to dismiss--since you won't be able to answer them and you won't submit to the implications of their truthfulness. 1) What part of this quote isn't true today? Don't say it was faked, because many manuscripts still exist that easily prove these words are at least 1 thousand years old and more.2) Here it is 2,000 years later and we are *still* talking about Jesus. What do you expect people to be saying about *you* in 2,000 years? Don't you expect to be totally forgotten? How is it that a man who was charged with one of the worst possible crimes against his people and executed was able to posthumously change his reputation so drastically? No matter what he said to his Apostles *before* his death, how could he have directed events thereafter?3) How did he know that *many* people would falsely claim to *be* him? It is true that we do remember a few people from long ago, but how could *you* plan to *be* such a person? True some hindu religions may have teachings vaguely similar to resurrection but Budda (for example) was not executed as a subversive blasphemer. The best modern equivalent of what Jesus did would be attributing a messiahship to Willie Horton or Charles Manson--in the year 4,000! How could *anyone* arrange that today?4) How could he have arranged for so many (2 billion+) people to *believe* and blindly *follow* the liars to their own detriment? 5) How could Jesus have arranged for the world to become full of war 2,000 years after his death? Don't say "it was bound to happen" because many things, theoretically, *could* have happened--including peace. 6) There were no guns, tanks or nuclear weapons in Jesus' day. How, then, could Jesus know that the war would become "terrifying" but still not exterminate the human race? (note, he said "the end is not yet...")As you're preparing to dismiss these evidences, bear in mind that Jesus merely *spoke* these words to the Apostles, "unlettered" men who 1) had no political power or influence, 2) were reviled by the powers that be, 3) initially showed fear of said authorities and 4) were themselves pursued, persecuted, imprisoned and (many of them) executed. Jesus didn't WRITE one word of the Bible and even if he did, how could he, poshumously, secure accurate hand-copying for 2,000 years--in the midst vigorous persuction? These powerful evidences are from a very small portion of the Bible, there is much more that you're not *hearing* about (ah, the benefits of reading for oneself). There is only one possible explanation for Jesus startling foreknowledge and "coincidence" and "crazy" just won't cover it this time.

"No one person or groups of people have the right to push their agenda."I have to disagree with you in the strongest possible terms there. Loan Sharks and Lawyers must have tapped into that bit of our shark DNA.

On a side note to a discussion above, Jesus was not born of a virgin. It has been shown clearly that there was a mistranslation - virgin was supposed to be "young girl". Google "virgin mistranslation" for more.

"1) What part of this quote isn't true today? Don't say it was faked, because many manuscripts still exist that easily prove these words are at least 1 thousand years old and more."Who cares? The quote really doesn't say that much: "Some might come along claiming to be me. Don't worry if you hear about some wars." - that's pretty much what it boils down to."2) Here it is 2,000 years later and we are *still* talking about Jesus. What do you expect people to be saying about *you* in 2,000 years? ..."Irrelevant."3) How did he know that *many* people would falsely claim to *be* him? It is true that we do remember a few people from long ago, but how could *you* plan to *be* such a person? True some hindu religions may have teachings vaguely similar to resurrection but Budda (for example) was not executed as a subversive blasphemer. The best modern equivalent of what Jesus did would be attributing a messiahship to Willie Horton or Charles Manson--in the year 4,000! How could *anyone* arrange that today?"Buddha is not a christ figure. Interestingly, your christ shares many of the same characteristics of various religious characters that *predate* him - look into Krishna. History of religious characters is full of virgin births and resurrections. Coincidence? Of course not. Myth theft? I think so."4) How could he have arranged for so many (2 billion+) people to *believe* and blindly *follow* the liars to their own detriment?"He didn't. Anymore than the millions of followers of other religions had their belief arranged for them by their originators."5) How could Jesus have arranged for the world to become full of war 2,000 years after his death? Don't say "it was bound to happen" because many things, theoretically, *could* have happened--including peace."Jesus arranged for the world to be full of war? Good one. That makes him pretty nasty. In the event that you've worded this wrong, and I think you have, then how do you know that Jesus wasn't talking about wars that were happening in his time?"6) There were no guns, tanks or nuclear weapons in Jesus' day. How, then, could Jesus know that the war would become "terrifying" but still not exterminate the human race? (note, he said "the end is not yet...")"Primitive wars were terrifying. Soldiers hacking limbs and heads off. Burnings, ran-sackings, rape etc etc. Not terrifying enough? Try it some time. Certainly, he wouldn't have thought there could have been a war that could end the human race except for one with a heavy doze of smighting from god. That kind of works against what you're saying doesn't it?"These powerful evidences are from a very small portion of the Bible, there is much more that you're not *hearing* about (ah, the benefits of reading for oneself). There is only one possible explanation for Jesus startling foreknowledge and "coincidence" and "crazy" just won't cover it this time."Your 'evidence' is non-existent. Your delusion is getting the better of you. Again, the actual information given in the quote is that some people will come after him and claim to be him and that people shouldn't be afraid when hearing of war. That's it - nothing more, nothing less. The fact that you can read all the horses**t that you wrote into it is telling and at the same time disturbing.

Completely meaningless. Every species has a common ancestor. Most of the genetic code is used to form sub-cellular structures that are common to all life, so we share a great deal of it with everything on the planet.

Humans also have genes that are identical to chickpeas and bacteria that live in sludge.Humans and sharks all have cartilage, teeth, blood, livers, etc, etc, etc, etc,.....there should be plenty of genes in common.
