inhabitat.com — A human-powered energy-generating gym like Hong Kong’s is now taking shape in Seattle, turning human sweat into usable electric energy. By connecting spinning bikes to wind-generator motors, clients at Adam Boesel’s green microgym can generate enough electricity to power the gym’s music system or run their own personal DVD player.

The carbon dioxide in human, and all other, breath was taken out of the atmosphere by plants through photosynthesis - whether you eat the plants directly or animals that eat the plants. Thus, there is a closed loop, with no net addition to the atmosphere.

Macguy815 did not mention, nor even imply, anything about corollary emissions from fossil fuel usage in the production & distribution of foodstuffs. The comment was specifically about the CO2 produced from the body's burning of glucose. My comment did not come from the US DOE. I wrote that entire reply at the time of posting.Your reply was merely a pathetic attempt to change the subject and irrelevantly implicate me as a plagiarist again, rather than discuss the science of the matter.

Basic knowledge typed into a digg comment is plagiarizing? My reply was not copy & pasted. I was replying to the comment as it was presented. The research is readily available, especially for a manager who is a member of the AGU. I had no desire to continue that discussion when you appeared to only be interested in obtaining sound bites supporting your opinions, rather than the science.

Perfect way to cash in on the green energy hype! Seems like everyone is obsessed with making the world more energy efficient now... and hey why not??! People are interested in things like free energy, and it might give people a new interest in going to the gym! I think I'd go to a green gym just to check it out!
