hubblesite.org — This is a link to one of the most spectacular photographs ever taken - the Hubble Ultra Deep Field. Save for five foreground stars, every point of light in the photograph is a galaxy. This 1 million second exposure was taken over the course of 400 hubble orbits of the Earth, and is the farthest into space we have ever seen!

It's hard to believe the universe really looks like that when you use a broad electromagnetic spectrum. It's almost surreal.Heh, reminds me of the time Brian and Stewie fly a balloon over Europe and all the countries look like a map.

It's amazing to think that this picture is of galaxies as they were 6000 YEARS AGO! I mean at that time on earth people were constantly fighting dinosaurs, and commiting sodomy. And then God commited genocide when he flooded the Earth, killing everyone and everything except for one man's family and his boat loaded with two of all animals (except dinosaurs, unicorns, dragons, pegasus, griffins, and beholders).

Crazy, I was finally able to download the tiff file at a fair 70-80kb/s. Nice stuff.

It's amazing to me that there are still people that believe we are the only intelligent beings in the universe. Also, that picture is only 1/2,000,000th of the sky.
