ticalc.org — Justin Karneges has released Telnet 83 v0.96 Beta for the TI-83. This program will allow you to connect to the Internet from your TI-83 and it allows you to do IRC, e-mail, or browse the World Wide Web. You need a TI-Graph Link cable, an external 9600 modem, and a cellular phone or wall jack.

If I remember correctly, there's also something similar to this for the TI-86, although it's not quite as capable as the TI-83 version (I remember reading in the documentation that the TI-86 version can't do IRC or other things that use similar protocols).

@jimXugly Its not possible yet, but if you get a TI-84+ and a neat program called usb8x (<a class="user" href="http://usb8x.sf.net)">http://usb8x.sf.net)</a> which lets you connect USB peripherals, but you'd have to write the driver, so good luck with that.

"Does it work with a TI-83 PLUS?"I doubt it, cause it doesn't work on my 83 plus silver edition.

Seems lame. Why would you want to surf the Internet on a calculator? Just use the damn computer.

Because in most classes you're not supposed to take out your cell phone, but you have a calculator which you can use!
