blogs.techrepublic.com.com — Linux will continue to be Linux no matter how much money Microsoft spends or what Windows 7 does. Linux isn?t going away unless the entire Linux community decides to disperse and stop developing and growing. It?s not dependent on profit margins?or even marketing.

Are you for real?

Yes it is! Every time a baby with brains is born, we have a new future GNU/Linux user.

****Give me Amiga's Workbench back... If BeOS came back I would be willing to try it, or how about OS2? Any of these Operating Systems are superior to what we are currently offered.****Sorry, but these systems WERE superior at the time. Right now they evoke fond memories, but actually using them in modern times isn't viable. If they weren't decommisioned along the way and would have been actively developed right up to the present day, we would probably be using them.Haiku might be the closest candidate to bring some BeOS goodness back in the world. Amiga OS4 is vapourware on esoteric hardware. OS/2 is stuck in limbo, because parts of it are written by MS and IBM can't open the code because of it.

I know you don't f**king get it, but the time when you had to be a bearded hacker to use a computer it's long gone. You could accept this simple truth and instead work to bring the system closer to the user and not the other way around... but that's just a higher concept you freetards can't grasp.
