Amarok is f**king awesome. Not only is it lightweight but the fact that it uses a SQLite db is to cream over. The second it gets ported to Windows and Mac, im switching and ditching iTunes as my cross platform media player!

Anyone else that read this topic title think we've gone too far with non-words?Not a single noun in that sentence existed prior to the last decade.

I like Rhythmbox better. I have a large library and its easier to manage, at least for me. I used Amarok for a little bit but found it difficult to use, plugins that didn't work or required going through and changing settings, and overall, just harder.

Yeah. I use ubuntu and quite frankly all of this ubuntu this/that is getting annoying when it is for a cross-platform program. . . .Title could easily be "How to use Amarok to manage your iPod (or any MP3 player, for that matter).Amarok works great for my SanDisk Sansa and an iPod my dad found. But please, lets stop slapping ubuntu onto everything mmkay?

You might want to try songbird when it gets a little more mature. I'm _fairly_ sure it uses SQLite and it's cross platform.http://www.songbirdnest.com/

You can tell Ubuntu sucks when you have to read a tutorial on how to sync your iPod with it... I am sick of all these Ubuntu articles.
