ok until all these articles started showing up i didn't even know there was a problem... and all i'm running is ad block. I don't have a black background and as far as i can tell the comments are still normal.Maybe the ad just hasn't shown up yet for me?
When ads were static pictures and text, I didn't block them. When ads take up large amounts of bandwidth in relation to the content or when they do annoying tricks -- I see no ethical problem in blocking them.

Use AdBlock Plus for Firefox... I haven't seen this ad because I use it.
