I'll second that. After switching to FGLRX, everything sped up 100%, as fast as Opera on Windows. What I still don't get, though, is that in Ubuntu (without a K), Firefox loads SLOWER than Opera. Firefox has all its native widgets and stuff ready, whereas Opera has to load Qt, yet Opera still beats it. I just don't see how it's possible.
I never really noticed much of a memory leakhttp://img144.imageshack.us/img144/7430/untitledlb2.jpgFor having 9 tabs open, 6 extensions, themes and running for 7 hours I cant see what the complaint is. Firefox was never purported to have a small memory footprint. If you cannot afford hardware that does not run the software that you want it to at the speed you desire, than scrape some cash and buy a new pc. The burden is on you.My Honda accord tops at 90mph, so my many peoples logic Honda should make the accord behave like a BMW because not everyone has the casg to spend on a car like a bmw. Maybe an little over the top of, but I think you get my point.
The author of the article has already included your tip, which, by the way, is the best of the lot.Works on gecko-based Flock and in FF Portable. Yaay!!!
"Make Windows Run Faster by removing excess programs, restarting often", etc. = No duh. Marked as lame."Make Firefox Run Faster by removing excess extensions, restarting often", etc. = Brilliant!Something doesn't mesh here...

You could uninstall it, that would sort out the memory problem.
