brainfuel.tv — How would you like your computer to load all of your startup items before you ever have to enter your login password? You could press the button to power up your system and go get a cup of coffee. Five minutes later, you come to your desk and type in your password. BAM! Instantly dropped to the desktop!

Just a question... hasn't anyone heard of suspend to ram? I simply hit suspend to ram when I leave my computer, shuts down the fans, hard drive, etc etc just leaves power to the ram. I come back hit the space bar and its back up and running... instantly. The slowest part is waiting for my stupid CRT monitor to warm up.... my kindom for a Q320 (or an SED)

Misleading title... this does absolutely *nothing* before login.

My computer is a 3 Ghz and has a gig and a half of ram. My startup items are: Apache server, Microsoft IIS, Winkey, Keyboard Express, Synergy (for using my mac as a dual monitor), Gmail notifier, Remote Administrator, Tmobile Blackberry Desktop manager, and Trillian. Now, I don't know about you, but I think I've got a plenty fast enough machine. The problem is the 20 second delay while it loads everything. This tweak helps me because I can go get a cup of coffee while my computer does it's entire boot up sequence, without having to worry about someone plopping down in front of my computer and clicking around on stuff that they shouldn't (because it still locks itself up)
