blogs.ittoolbox.com— Store policy usually means you get another copy of the same bad game. This guy found a way around that.

This reminds me of when I was in the local cinema the other day, and I asked for a glass of tap water. In the UK, it is illegal for a restaurant, caf? or bar to (a) refuse to serve you water from the tap and (b) charge for it. The guy serving me was this little chink bastard who kept trotting off the line "it's against store policy" like he'd never heard of good customer service.Eventually his manager came to see what was going on. She apologised for his behaviour and gave me the tap water I'd requested, for which I thanked her. He then got taken out the back, presumably for a good arse-kicking for his unhelpful attitude.
What a jackass. Yeah I think the open game non-returnable policy is gay, but what point are you conveying by throwing a temper tantrum over it? It is people like you that make me hate my job as a manager in the restaurant business. If you work with the manager and be nice, you will usually get what you want and possibly more in return. I know I reward people for being nice and calm in bringing their problem to me, especially after I have to deal with a jackass like that guy!He is lucky another customer that he held up in line didn't say anthing; I have seen that before and it can get ugly. I usually get a kick out of it.
What a way to twist my words out of context, let's dissect that post bit-by-bit, shall we? Just because I have nothing better to do atm:"until a person is 18 and no longer legally a minor parents are 100%"Parents *are* responsible for what their kids do, to a certain extent. If you're sleeping (that's still allowed when you're a parent, right?) and your kid runs outside and shoots someone with a gun he found at a playground because he snuck out of the house, are you responsible? (kids can be resourceful; quite the imagination)."hinten said that since the child was underage he couldn't legally agree to the contract of sale which would make the child not responsible"... But I didn't, so that statement doesn't apply to me. Let's move on,"but you are saying that the parent cant be held responsible for what his child did (complete and utter BS by the way)."My oh my, self-contradictions aren't becoming of you. Aren't you the one that later (in the same post) type this?,"if my kid had pulled a shenanigan like this i wouldn't be blaming the clerk who sold him the game, i would blame my kid. i know that when i have kids that they eventually do something like this and the will be aptly punished to let them know that kind of behavior is not tolerable (just like my parents)."So it *is* the kid's fault! The parent's responsibility to *punish* him, perhaps. But it's the kids fault for *doing* it! I'm glad we see eye-to-eye here."someone has to be responsible, so which is it?"See comments above."and no it would not be me *****,"I never said it was your fault and/or responsibility. I just called you an ass-h**e for not sympathizing with the man's situation. Heartless."if anyone under the age of 18 could not agree to the contract of sale then legally you would not be able to purchase anything from any store whatsoever if you were under 18."Again, this comment this doesn't apply to me; next!"and how the hell was i being greedy?"Nothing else could explain your horrible lack of compassion." i was 18 working at blockbuster video making $7.00 an hour if i was lucky"Good for you, I make just about the same, and *am* 18 (Actually, a little more. But relatively the same). We have (had?) so much in common!"and why should i be the one responsible for the actions of someone Else's child. like i said, even at the time not unusual for a 12 year old to come in with $20 to buy one game."Eh, we already went over this. No need to beat a dead horse, so to speak."if he had come in with $200 and tried to buy 10 games and i let him, then yes i would have been irresponsible."Not irresponsible. Hell, *I*'d sell it to him, but if someone came by and told me he bought it with stolen money, then I'd reconsider the sale." most people say that the never want to be like their parents, but me i know that i will be exactly like them and i will be happy for it."Good for you? The rest of your post is just a lame attempt at trying to get sympathy points, so I won't even bother. Although, I still don't understand how *you* don't understand the simple concept of how people are different, and how no matter how much you nurture a mischievous child, chances are he'll always be that way (at least until he matures). I know several people that cry themselves to sleep because no matter how hard they possibly try, their child is still an evil assh**e (did your parents ever do the same?). You don't feel sorry for them? No, screw it. Trying isn't good enough. If your child is a bad person, always blame it on the parents, they obviously went wrong somewhere.
Awesome! Just awesome! I would've done the same freakin' thing, especially after explaining in full detail about what had happened and still, they stick to their policy. And also, if the guy was along time customer of that game store and yet, they still stuck to their policy as if that was his first time there at that game store.I'm glad he did what he did and I applaud him for that. If they had just did what he asked for them to do, then they wouldn't have been made fools and everyone would be happy(Even though the clerk and manager wouldn't have been). Oh well, what's done is done and there's a lesson to be learned here: Policies sometimes can be broken if you try hard enough and stay you're ground.
blah blah blah.....Since I completely QUIT pre-ordering games I have not experienced this problem. I read reviews and buy with almost 95% confidence that I am going to buy a quality product free of annoying defects. The staff at the local ebgames that I am friendly with always remind me to pre-order the next big thing. I say I will be by and they say if I don't pre order they won't have a copy and I will be SOL. I laugh and remind them that if EBGames is out od stock Best Buy is 5 minutes down the street and they always take delivery of way more than they sell. Ebgames = 0 Best Buy = 1.Never ever pre-order and always read reviews. You won't just avoid the crap, you will also skip the merely mediocre also.
take the unpopend to wally world....return with no reciprt for store credit...and then get a new game....all good...i just thought of that by the way..someone quick pat me on my back!
Where does Bosnia come into anything, you idiot? And why are you replying to a 2 year old topic? You are saying my information is about Bosnia? The information pulled from the UNITED STATES Consumer Protection Act???

I looked this up and unfortunately it applies to Bosnia/Hertzigovina, NOT the United States... <a class="user" href="http://www.libertas-institut.com/de/News&amp;Termine/08.BiH.Consumers%20Law%20EN.pdf" rel="nofollow">http://www.libertas-institut.com/de/News&amp;Termi ...</a>
