I was editing my comment and digg cut me off.The two options you want to turn on in iTunes are "Keep iTunes Music folder organized" and "Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library" under the iTunes preferences. Then what happens is that iTunes will add the music to the iTunes folder you selected as well as putting them in folders based on their info.

iTunes is what stops me from getting an iPod.Phyiscally they are pretty much the best MP3 player I have seen, but it's inability to just play any mp3 you drag and drop into a folder (Say Music ) without the need for any specific program kills the whole thing to me.

Yamipod was mentioned a few comments up but here's the link http://www.yamipod.com/main/modules/home/ It's small enough to fit on a memory key (12MB), it's free and is nice and easy to use.

People need to jump through all these hoops just to listen to music? Then pay a buck a song for a download? Amazing how the music industry has "guiltified" their fans.I swear, at this rate, people are going to be forced to go back to using cassettes. There has been a surprisingly immediate lowering of the bar for the sophistication of tech stories on the "new digg". Lowest common demonitor, I guess. Please post where the new best tech site is as soon as info becomes available. Thanks
