Nero done pissed me off for the last time. There's an issue with BackItUp! that completely breaks Windows WIA scanner support (It uninstalls non-nero reg keys. Astral, the problem is, it's yet another software option people didn't ASK to have installed, but they deemed it so critical to put it in there anyway.When I installed it, I was expecting to be able to install the nero burning app - sans the video junk, sans the jewell case insert makiner, sans anything but the burning software... Yet, I don't get the choices I had with 6.x...

They keep stacking features on that are USELESS and simply make the things we want to do with the program harder to access. No more nero. Freeware burning programs from now on. Sorry Nero, but even Nero "Express" isn't quick anymore.

I had the run command before but the .reg file helps even more, like when i end up reformatting and forget where i placed the command string! :o

Isn't there an option to do this? Cuz im pretty sure that I disabled mine either during installation or shortly after it. I just remember it not being a problem to disable.

The first thing to do is to disable Nero Scout via its own interface. To do so, double-click on the My Computer icon. Right-click on the Nero Scout icon and choose Options. Then uncheck the option for Enable Nero Scout.Reboot your PC and see if you are still experiencing problems. The above post doesn't seem to work, try this instead.I've installed Nero 7, and enjoyed everything but Nero Scout. The application is quite annoying and unuseful to disable go to the start menu and click on "Run" than type this in the command box:regsvr32 /u "%COMMONPROGRAMFILES%AheadLibMediaLibraryNSE.dllIt should work!

Why isn't this optionable in the install? You can select/deselect Nero Vision/Photosnap/Soundtrax/Showtime and all other programs - but you can't deselect Nero Scout! This must be uninstalled this way... I can't believe why it's like this!

Hey so has no-one noticed that if you go to my computer, right click on nero scout and select options that in the top left of the panel there is a check box that says enable/disable nero scout?Its a far easier way of getting rid of it haha

That would have worked fine for me if I didn't get an error window telling me that Nero Scout couldn't initialize and that I should reinstall Nero.
