computerworld.com— Can you really deliver a PowerPoint presentation directly from an Apple iPod, RIM BlackBerry, or Palm Treo? The answer is "yes," and I'm going to tell you how to do it.

you could connect your ipod to a tv/projector, and use it from there. a portable powerpoint device, ready to use. too bad the a/v cable for the ipod is so freaking expensive...anybody got any alternatives?
The way the iPod is set up, so consumers are "forced" to use(buy) Apple's propietary video cord, Apple just simply rearranged the order of the connections inside the iPod's jack, so when you connect any old video jack to it, it won't work. But the fix is to just rearrange the jacks to see which one is really transmitting the video. (which could be the red one)
Instead of spending your $bling$ on all this 'fancy new fangled software' and $60 overpriced monster cables... spend the money on a cheap laptop, for the same price, and do a 'real' powerpoint presentation, and not look like a doofus.
@paradoxy:"just tried it, red and white are audio for me, which means yellow is most likely video....but i cant test that, because i only have a 3.5m to audio out cable :("That is true for an audio cable, but the video is an extra conductor on the 3.5mm jack. I'm not sure of the technical specs of the audio/video cables are, but as Braxo said, Apple uses non-standard connections. Look around for a 3.5mm to RCA a/v cable and you should find one for a decent price. I hope that helps you out.
The Macintosh version of Microsoft Office allows PowerPoint presentations to be exported as QuickTime movies.Put that movie on your iPod and you're in business!
