just cause this tutorial is below some (most) of you internet gurus, doesn't mean it isn't useful and attention shouldn't be brought to it. think of the little guys!!! duggage
So does anyone out there have a easy to use method to obtain the lat and long of a point programmatically over the web? i.e. submitting an address and being returned the lat and long? I don't particularly want to try storing all the lat and long information on each of the locations we would want to display, and have it being updated by end users...
This post looks old (the link is broken), but check out the GoRoam Geomapper at <a class="user" href="http://geo.goro.am">http://geo.goro.am</a> for an alternative. It is a tool that helps you quickly and easily add a map to your web page, then geotag images, text, and links on the page so they show up on the map.

That kinda creeped me out because the first example map shows exactly where I live. I was wondering how they did that! (it's just a coincidence)
