opentravelinfo.com — It's Summer and I love going on Road Trips. It's this time of the year when I drive the most. Due to the recent hike in gas prices, I thought it might be a good idea to share this article with you. Even though gas prices don't hurt my bottom line that much, I can truly feel the pain this must cause a lot of people.

after riding my bike to work every day summer and winter (even at -20) for 4 yearsI can honestly say that these tips will not save me one single drop of gas.. However, I have found that if I can find another bike commuter and we take turns drafting behind ea. other at about the 1 foot range I get about 20% more speed for a lot less work.

6 MPG for a 15 gallon tank = 90 more miles per tank. Going an extra 90 miles is not quite three gallons per tank. Call it 9 dollars per tank. at 15000 miles per year, thats about 7 fewer tanks. And 7 tanks at $3 per gallon = $315 every year. That is a rather nice addition to Christmas money. This math took two minutes to do. Be ASHAMED if you can't do math, just like you'd never admit you can't read well.

Air resistance increases logarithmically, not exponentially. But yes, depending on gearing (Corvettes get ~30mpg at 75 mph because of a really tall 6th gear) most cars will see increasing mileage up to around 60 mph with a dramatic dropoff at speeds over 80.
