lifehacker.com — The Republican National Committee spending nearly $150,000 to dress and style Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and her family in the wake of her nomination as the party's vice presidential candidate surprised me. The first rule of fiscal responsibility, in my humble opinion, is to never pay retail. Whether you live in New York, NY or Wasilla, Alaska, th

Eyeglasses, I go to this place where for $99 if I buy one pair of very nice high quality eyeglasses, very fashionable looking ones, modern up to date ones, I get a second pair for free. I am able to dress very nicely and go to places like Ross Dress for Less and places like that and spend very little. What does someone need $150,000 worth of clothing for during a 3 month period? It is astounding. Is this what we call a reformer. We can't say that it isn't her fault and that she didn't have a choice. She said she is a reformer and turned down things as Alaska Governor, ie, a plane, etc.She said that she turned down the funding for the Bridge to Nowhere(but wait a minute, her administration kept the funds anyway). Does this go along with the $21,000 that she billed to the State of Alaska for travel for her family that her predecessors didn't do, as was reported by them in the media? I mean, they didn't stay at Howard Johnson's or The Fairfield Inn. They stayed at top Luxury Accomodations, and this was paid for by the taxpayers. What kind of reformer is this? Not quite the Maverick she says she is. Her and McCain are criticizing the failures and mis-deeds of the Bush Administration. Did I just see a double take? Hold on a minute John and Sarah. Just a week out from the election, I hear this coming from you. Failures of the Bush Administration. John, you voted alongside with Bush 91% of the time and you were a close ally of him during the past 8 years. It is known he has been quietly as some of your fundraisers and has been supporting you and as of late he put his two cents into the voter issues in Ohio, how surprising, just a week out from the election, and did it in your favor. But you say you are your own man and are not like him. You say you are not President Bush, but John, you are just like him and continually hang out with him and go along with him and he has been there all along in the background giving fuel to your campaign every way he can. And Sarah, why be angry at Katie Couric? Katie was doing her job. Was it perhaps that you are angry at yourself and are blaming Katie for that anger? Katie asked proper and legitimate questions that any candidate would have been asked. Did you think you would be given a special pass from having to answer the same questions that any other candidate would have to answer? Getting to such an office is not a free pass. John and Sarah, what is your definition of Socialism, really? I am tired of hearing you spew those words in a false context. Every election it seems that that word is used in a false manner as a false, mis--leading dirty political tool to try and intimidate voters in a psychological mind game. There is nothing socialist about providing fair opportunities to the people and being for the people. Is it more socialist, when you have voted along with the President for the past 8 years in support of giving large tax breaks and incentives to companies who have sent our jobs overseas, including tocommunist countries, continually giving all the tax breaks and incentives to the very wealthy, giving us nothing, denying us a proper healthcare plan, and leaving 95% of us behind and letting us fall into poverty while the very wealthy have made all the rules and have bullied the rest of us around? John, if you live in a glass house, never ever throw stones. This is our opportunity for a better day and a better hope. And John, we are certainly not supporting you're way of continuing to take us down the wrong path for another 4 years. John, voting for you would be like voting for Herbert Hoover instead of Franklin Roosevelt in 1932. John voting for you would be like voting for Richard Nixon instead of JFK in 1960. John voting for you would be like voting for an end to our health benefits, four more years of misery, suffering, while you and your rich buddies live off the fat of the land and forget about the rest of us. John, I hope after next Tuesday that the party is over for the GOP. I hope that America will not allow you to continue the way the GOP has taken food off of our tables for the past 8 years.

What's the big deal? All she needs is some tight jeans, t-shirt. Bra optional. She's the same person underneath no matter how she dresses.

Same people who didn't make a peep over Kerry's and Edwards $500 dollar haircuts are all over this. I think it was stupid to spend that much even if it's going to charity afterwords. I'm consistent. Her critics aren't.
