that's the only good think about poker - everybody wins except the people that lose.rake is the rent a casino charges to ensure a safe, fair game. they don't make a huge amount compared to other table games, but they understand that most people who win a bundle at poker will wander out, flush with invincibility, and lose it all at craps.if you're a good poker player playing against weak opponents, at a casino that isn't intentionally raping you on the rake, it's easy to generate a positive long-term return on poker.it is simply not possible to generate a positive long-term return on any other game going on in the casino, no matter what system you think you have.

You can approach 0 but you can't equal it or exceed it in blackjack. Welcome back to gambling 101. Counting cards doesn't give you an advantage over the house but it can get you roughed up by security. Nobody ever slammed my fingers in the door for buying savings bonds, and i've beat inflation, which is a hell of a lot better that what 99.9% of gamblers ever do.

sorry abomong, i have to be plain. you do not know what you are talking about, and you're leading people into throwing their money away.of course you can count through a six deck shoe. you can count through a hundred deck shoe. but the point of counting is to start identifying when enough high count cards have passed to shift the probabilities of the cards to come.with several players playing in a single-deck game, you see a fairly high percentage of the cards before the game is over, and you need to, because that's when your count starts becoming statistically significant. but just like in a single-deck game, you also need to deal fairly deeply into a /shoe/ for your counts to become statistically significant as wellWhy is this important? because casinos know this, and they routinely swap out the shoes before you even get a third of the way in. so you can be counting perfectly, but you never get enough counts before the shoe is swapped to make the count meaningful.also, even playing perfect basic strategy and counting flawlessly over a matter of hours (one mistake an hour and you've lost your advantage), at a single deck game with favorable rules, at a casino that is so utterly clueless that they aren't tracking your bets with the count (Borgata has rfids in the chips, so they can read the money on the table remotely), the edges you quote against the house are beyond ridiculous.my guess is that you probably work for the promotions department of a casino, but if not, you should find some other counter-culture area to try to be cool with, because the academic side of gambling is clearly not working out for you. have you looked into horse racing?
