I just joined FB last week. I can't believe how many "stay at home" moms I know who spend ALL day, EVERY day on that stupid Farmville. If you're a stay at home mom, aren't you supposed to spend at least some of that time with your kids??? It is really, truly pathetic and sad.
so long as it's not some 13-year-old's superficial realization about everyday occurences, a dejected female quoting a cheesy line about the troubles of romance, or a jackass's attention-grabbing way of forcing users to "become a fan" before seeing some allegedly astounding picture, i think i'll become a fan of the page just out of relief.
You can't modify the HTML and CSS on the Facebook fan page. At least, I haven't seen where you can. You can just upload pictures to photo galleries, create page tabs, specify what you want as the default landing page/tab and use the discussions page.

You can only create custom FBML landing pages with Facebook Fan Pages not personal profiles. FBML is a sub set of HTML, CSS, Java Script and Facebooks own code base. FBML gives you incredible flexability in design once you learn it's secrets.
