Depends what you are doing and what is being criticized, but to me the writer just suggests that you should water down your original vision for the sake of popularity and being "a better person".
I couldn't agree with you more, hockey.....I try to make it a point not to take anything to heart that is destructive. Sometimes, people are just out to hurt you, not really offer an opinion to help you improve. That's the stuff to ignore.

I disagree. Accepting legitimate criticism that is healthy and constructive helps you in the long run to refrain from repeating past mistakes.
