Sorry, gotta call bulls**t there Duco. I've done a lot of work as a freelancer in the media and I can't count how many times I've been told to "reframe the idea a bit, could you?".The media is all about curving things to maintain a specific perception. If it wasn't true, you wouldn't be interested in half of the s**t. Sorry to say, but it's business as usual.

This has been going on for decades and we're NOW just noticing it. I don't think so. There was a popular book about this type of manipulation that came out in the 1950's called "The Silent Service" It had nothing to do with submarines and was about marketing and AD Agencies. They trumpeted this effect. I'm sure I could go back further to the pre-civil war days and find examples as well. What about that shot of Abe Lincoln and US Grant in Grants Tent..... etc etc etc.....YAWN.......

@shondanx, it is a seriously good news source - as inactive says, they have all the western/english broadcasters who got fed up with having their hands tied.... I think the fact that David Frost is part of the Al Jazeera English team speaks volumes. They are based out of Doha, and as long as they limit their reporting on Doha (don't point out the obvious flaws/news) they are free to report on anything else - and they do so with quality. Where else would you actually get shown Israeli soldiers tear gassing a lone, western, reporter? Al Jazeera English was the only international news organization embedded in Gaza when the Israelis locked it down; none of the other western news outlets would have the balls.
