Not forgetting that the most popular drink in Ireland is the black stuff (Guinness) 40% of all alcohol consumed and that's a stout not a beer. Likewise them crazy Russians consume a ridiculous amount of Vodka (cue "In soviet Union" jokes). I'd like to see a study like this on alcohol consumption and not just beer. Time to sower the Internets for this. Pog mo hon
American beer isn't as strong as other nation's, so Americans get drunk a lot quicker and drink a lot less, while all other nations are still stone sober by the 7th pint, they're going to need those extra pints.
The avg price I payed for a pint of beer at a bar in Prague was less than a dollar. It was always the cheapest drink you could buy. Much cheaper than water.
Perhaps not lowering the drinking age, but how about if we included under age drinkers in the stats...? O maybe that would just show a higher consumption of goon and passion pop?
Think I figured out why Canadians are slacking. "52 percent of the retail price of beer is taxes, the third-highest tax rate in the world behind Norway and Finland."
