howmanyofme.com— So you think you're unique? There are 595 people in the U.S. named Kevin Rose, but only 11 people in the U.S. named Alex Albrecht. Let's find out just how common (or UNcommon) YOUR name really is!

FYI, the site is in beta, so of course it won't be perfect. You know, seriously, from the time I was 18 until 21 I technically didn't exist in the government database in any legal manner due to a name chance when I was an infant when my parents got married. My last name changed, but somehow it didn't get into the system. Not until I was trying to get a replacement social security card did I find out I had two completely semi-legal names that were both completely invalid. No, doesn't make sense. But without a social security card with the same last name as on my driver's license, I legally couldn't work. To get my SS card changed, I had to prove I was the person named with that number. My driver's license said my current name, which I got right before the DMV kicked up how stringent they are on verifying things. As a minor, my mom just filled a few things out, showed my card, and they put it in my current name. But to get my license changed, I had to prove my ID with my birth certificate, which had my birth name on it, and so didn't match. Basically it was a huge ordeal requiring many, many trips to the state capitol and petitions and affidavits, and still, anytime I call the government for anything, deal with taxes, whatever, I have to explain all this stuff and give them a maiden name for my mother that isn't correct. I now currently exist under two names. From not existing four years ago, I now exist twice, under both my birth name and my current name.
Completely inaccurate. It guesses probability based on occurrences of the first name and the occurrences of the last name. For instance, my 38 year old sister's first name was unusual as is my last name. Thus it concluded that the estimated amount of people with that name is 0. This is a joke. Amusing at first, but completely unreliable.
I don't know if there is a good digg-equivalent for slashdotted...I saw digg effected" above, but it sounds cumbersome. May I proposed duggout? As in "The site is already duggout", or "Once it hit the frontpage, the site was duggout."

People, there is a big difference between your name and your existence. If your parents never gave you a name, would you still exist? Yes, you would.
