Accidentally? How do you accidentally open all the apps on your Mac? Even if you did, you could just force quit many of them before they completely startup.

Actually, it's called a DOCK. And the reason why there's so many items in the DOCK is because all opened programs are represented in the DOCK while they're running.

The "opening all applications" is by the way a standard way to test the fans performance, issues etc in my local Apple Retail store. So, seen it too, wasn't impressed. It's a Macbook Pro, it's just... good :-)
