Though the word derives from a gender-specific root..."gender-specific" =/= "androgenous [SIC]" even if she were to have spelled it correctly in the first place.
I heard that R2D2 was named after a Rainbow series 2 vacuum which his mother used. If you look at the design of R2D2, it looks very similar to the design of a late 50’s canister vacuum.I don’t know this to be true, but that’s what I heard.
