Thank you! I'm sure I'm the only chick to dare to post in the comments for this article, and I readily admit I can easily become the enemy described, but only after years of neglect and carelessness. The flaw with the poster's argument is that he thinks that he can take without giving. What did you expect? Sometimes my relationship makes me feel like I'm in a Tool video, and you would expect me to not lash out? Yeah, learn to be decent and careful with a good woman or she'll go bad...eventually.

The basic way to deal with a woman is to treat her like she's the only woman you want. You don't have to do crazy stuff for her all of the time, but she just needs to know that you REALLY want her and that you want no one else...at least not as much as you want her. Some tips for guys, to avoid pushing your relationship into insane mode:1. don't forget her birthday. Even if you have a gift or fun night planned for another night, do something small for her on her actual birthday. Write a poem...or something. 2. Don't go to your friend's house on her birthday (especially if that friend is another girl) and leave her home alone. 3. Be romantic every once in a while. I understand that's difficult for some guys, but you're on the net all the time anyway. There are about a trillion resources to help you. Even the most tomboyish girls (I hate romance movies myself) need a little romance every now and then.4. Don't expect her to tell you exactly every detail about how to please her. Surprise is sometimes the most exciting element of pleasing someone. Charm is completely lost on 100% knowledge. Again, use your favorite tool: the internet5. Clean, dammit! Don't turn her into your maid. Seriously. I hate cleaning just as much as my guy does, but someone has to do it. Don't piss her off by being a slob and not cleaning at least every once in a while.6. Don't just stick it in her. Wind her up. Come on. This is basic. It's not all about you, you know.7. When you're out, you're going to stare at other chicks. I know that's a guy thing and doesn't mean you're about to run off with the other chick. But for god's sake, follow that up with a compliment on my looks.8. Give me my own space. Give me somewhere in the house/apartment that's only mine, where I can go and be alone and feel like it's my own little cave. Don't invade it. Keep your stuff and your self away. Both guys and girls should have that. If I did, I would feel like there's at least one little spot that I own where I can feel that I can control my environment, and consequently can control my temper.9. Take me somewhere every now and then. A date, even. Just because we've been together for 4 years doesn't mean that our life together has to be so monotonous and routine. Surprise me. 10. Don't ever criticize my looks. Deep down, my guy is the best for me, so he never degrades my appearance or my skills. Otherwise, I would have left years ago. But guys, don't ever tell her she's fat or ugly. Ever. That's the worst thing you can do, and it's more damaging, psychologically that you know.Bottom line: you have to keep working on the relationship, even after you know she's yours.
