As long as spoilers are historically accurate you shouldn't have to say "Spoiler warning". It's like going to see Titanic and saying "Wow I wasn't expecting the ship to sink!". Right now the history channel is playing a great documentary about the battle of Thermopylae (and the battles that led up to it)
You were buried because nobody cares about how historically accurate 300 was, it meant to be nothing more than PURE ASSKICKING and it succeeded to the highest degree. Nobody cares how long it "Would have been" if slow-mo and more content were opted out. The Matrix "would" have been a lot less interesting to watch if it wasn't for "bullet time".
idiot, my point wasn't that it was inaccurate. my point was that the movie was not faithful to the COMIC, and that as a movie it fell pretty short of what it could have been as well. As I said - excessive slow-mo, a bunch of added s**t, and not nearly as much action as should have been.
agreed, everything about this movie is over-ratedi cant believe miller let this happen, Sin City was soooooo much better then this i guess that's what happens when your cast is full of b-list actors and you get some random ass director to make it and the costumes...common can they get any gayer?i didn't know the king of the Persians had a golden thong.Yes they stayed true to the comic, but if you want to make a good f**king movie you have to change it a little, not everything that looks good on paper, looks good on a movie screen, take Ghost Rider for example lmao what a joke that movie was XD
Zack Snyder, Sacha Baron Cohen(borat)..to name a few. Do they have something in common?I watch the film comedy "Borat" three times because it was so funny. But after the pleasure of laughing,if you look close enough with a broader aspect sens of history you will understand that a political message is idle somewhere, stealthily working your brain.Am sure Frank Miller didn't really want that, but Zack Snyder know exactly what he's doing. The symbolics are flagrant here, you got Hellenic culture in which most of western civilization is base on, fighting against a powerful decadent Asian from ancient middle-east that outnumber them(Today it is against the New Persian(Iranians), heirs of that thousand year old civilization, but with a monotheist religion this time .Virtue against/ decadenceHomogeneity /against cosmopolitanismThe Spartans are strikingly fair skin northern Mediterraneans(unlike geeks of today) type while the Persians are a mixture of bastards and demons, accumulated from the vast Persian empire that touch Asian and Africa. The Spartans stands for freedom and virtue while the deprave imperialist Persians use numbers and slaves. The spartan woman speak in public and is emancipated just like modern American woman while Persian woman are freaky sex slaves with deformity.(Isn't it the east vs ouest message of democracy and freedom defending itself against Islam fundamentalism?) Of course, the secret for the beauty and strength of spartan come from the eugenicists practiced by spartan priests, who kills infant babies born with deformity(what a splendid message for today's doctors). The weakest are disposed of ,so they keep the fittest while the depraves Persians accumulate scums and weak, bounded by lust and deceptive promises(Well isn't' it a caricature of Islam religion who is a fast growing religion that attract many third world followers(Africa,Asia mainly).Athenian are represented as decadents(boys lovers like Leonidas call them) who let the Spartan do the job first.Athenians are a symbols of the weak democracies of today who refuse America in the "war against terror" campaign post-911.Although I respect Greek culture and knowledge which greatly edify our modern societies, but Greek history in general is base on mouth to ears myths, which were hundred of years later written by philosophers, eager to show good example of bravery and virtue to the common citizens of Greek antiquity. Is there proof that Leonidas really stop half a million Persian with just 300 brave soldiers?Xerxes could had have revolt in Persia which force him to send thousands of soldiers back home to defend he's throne. This could had strengthen the Spartans revolt.I think we must be careful with the concept propose by Zack Snyder movie even if its just a movie. There is hidden message of bigotry ,anti immigration, pro-war in it.This is how far "Big brother" can try to reach our souls within it unconsciousness .An unscrupulous young mind who watch this movie we see a logical fundamentals for inequality, written by history itself, of race and the menace of third world immigration.See all the messages invoked by the directors of this movie and make your own opinion but for sure, that was still a great movie that I enjoyed to watch.

300 sucked. One notch up from "Ghost Rider". Read "Gates of Fire". Goodnight, nerds.
