money.cnn.com — An instant message from a friend popped up on Lane McConnell's computer in September, telling him to check out a YouTube video of a cat chasing a remote-controlled toy helicopter. He watched it. "I said, 'Oh, yeah, that's the coolest thing,'" recalls McConnell. "'I have to get it.'"

I'll admit it... I bought an RC helicopter after reading about them on Digg.

i bought one of these and gave it away after a couple days for that very reason. sure it flew and was cute for a few minutes, but nothing i did would make it stabilize, it constantly spun around in circles no matter how much trim you added to compensate.

possibly the cat has seen it fall off the table edge before - easy target

Seems dangerous. Someone's cat is gonna lose an eye or something.

I got mine from ThinkGeek and it's pretty cool. It takes some time to get used to, and some minor adjustments on the remote. You can't fly near walls or where there's any wind or drafts. It looks like they sold out of the original chopper, but they have the mini one http://www.thinkgeek.com/geektoys/rc/8d19/

@freakygeeky - Wrong. I have all three as well and you just need to mod the SL a bit or you got a lemon. Check here for all of the satisfied SL owners - www.rcgroups.com
