benedelman.org— Vonage spends huge amounts on advertising -- more than $20 million per month. Unfortunately, among this spending is widespread and substantial spyware-delivered advertising.

Did you port your Ma Bell number? If so, I would rather believe that the Co. that handles the porting let the number out. (neither Vonage or the regular Telco handles the number handover directly).I have had Vonage with a new number for a year now, and I have had only one cold call, and that probably was given out by someone I had done business with and foolishly gave them my home number (not regulated being vonage) not my cell number (regulated)
Um, I think the author was trying to get spyware for the article & the fastest way to do that is to use IE.Still, it shows that IE is a spyware magnet. Of course everyone reading this already knows that. :)
I'm gonna get vonage and see for myself. 25 bucks a month ain't bad. I know all tel sold my # our some one did I'm getting about 4 calls a day from credit card companies. I'm all most debt free. There trying to suck me in again. I want fall for it. Ive looked at all of the other voip I'm gonna try vonage.
@crilen007I'm not getting anything but only paying 27.95 a month for unlimited long distance in the US, (which I use quite frequently to contact people I was in the Army with) + getting free call forwarding to my cell phone, free call waiting, free three way calling, free caller ID is one hell of a deal. If I used Cox or Qwest for similar services I would be paying well over twice what I am now.
iv ran up a 270 dollar vonage bill (intl calls) and im not going to pay for it.1) they dont allow you to make multiple payments, iv told them countless times, i want to make 100 from this card and 100 from the other, and they refuse, stupid customer service can hardly speak english2) they keep calling and leaving voicemails asking for money3) there IPO is doing so poorly, i hope they bankrupt4) its a stupid company, I went with lingo now so far so good.
