Not sure what the big deal about the close buttons on each tab is about. I had to resort to using the Tab Mix Plus extension to get the close buttons on each tab. Matter of fact, that's where I got used to the Restore Tab option.
I'm used to using Safari which has a close button on each Tab, and I'm looking forward to when the default Firefox has the same. IMO it's much more sensible. Less mouse movement to do what I want to do.

Just use the Nightly Tester Tools extension, it will make all of your extensions compatible: http://users.blueprintit.co.uk/~dave/web/firefox/nightly/index.html

In case the comment gets buried, here's how to get all your earlier extensions to work with the new release. It works GREAT.http://www.ghacks.net/2006/07/11/how-to-enable-all-extensions-in-firefox-20/
