tech.cybernetnews.com— Vista Transformation Pack 4.0 was just released and it does a great job of giving your XP machine the Vista look.

It installed with one hiccup asking me to insert my win XP CD...just rebooted and worked great. After login however, I moused over the "LClock" and it won't friggin go away!
it deleted .dll files that made it impossible to boot into windows, the only way to recover was to reinstall windows completely thus losing my partition. So while this program didn't directly delete my hard drive, it was becuase of this program that i had to delete it. I'm not bulls**tting anything.
I installed it, followed all the instructions to the letter and it works perfectly, nothing wrong and looks awesome. I even created a restore point just in case.
If this is anything like the the OS X transformation kits I'll pass. They really are a poor excuse. As far as I'm concerned, consistency, functionality, and speed are tantamount to everything else. Windows Classic theme for life.
I don't believe so. You take an average (mass) user and put them into a Gentoo minimal install CD, good ****ing luck. Linux can be great for cusomization and specific data needs, but interoperablity with the all but the most common file types (Files for the masses, mp3s and such) is difficult. Windows is great and easy to install to (Compared to Linux where I have to compile EVERYTHING, at least Gentoo) but lacks customization due to securities. And Macs are like eyecandy women. They look good, fufill base pleasures (Playing music and looking at pictures is about all a Mac does well) but in the end, still needs a proper elementry school education.
