blogs.zdnet.com — While Airgo's 3rd generation product achieves record breaking throughput, it annihilates any legacy 802.11 b/g product in the vicinity. The other products from weren't quite as devastating to the neighbors, but the damage is still severe. What's crazy is that these products are FCC legal and are being sold on store shelves today.

Just because it's legal to buy doesn't mean it's legal to, nor that courts wouldn't convict you if tried just because it's never been done before.

One of the primary FCC laws regarding any such device is that it may not cause any harmful interference. So, no, it's not legal. But you probably wouldn't get into too much trouble over it unless you, for instance, started falsely advising people on an Internet blog that such activity is legal. Oh, oops.

Not necessarily...Mircorwaves, remotes and WIFI all operate on different frequency on the allowable FCC channel (wank). Its when we make our own channel on the band that jams the signal...In this case WIFI. So what it looks like is happening here is all the crap in the apartment is making noise on the band interfering with the WIFI indirectly. Again, they operate on the same frequency, but the noise on the band is poising the channel in the given space and time.
