modernlifeisrubbish.co.uk — Ever wish you could make your friends and family switch away from Internet Explorer? Perhaps the ability to make it spontaneously crash (and I mean totally crash) just by sending them a link might sway them...

Wouldn't the link be wierd though? I mean if someone actually read it they would see the page is crash-ie.html . Wouldn't that be suspisouse?

"I just like to write in a inflammatory (and slightly satirical) way."Man, does that ever not go over well on Digg... and I have the enemies and blocks to prove it!I sure hope the people who get mad at me don't think I'm over here with gritted teeth and veins popping. Even the most heated flame war is at best mildly concerning to me; I treat news sites the way most people treat TV. If I get flamed/modded down, I just say, "Hey it's the Internet. I didn't log in this morning expecting I would only meet people with my identical point of view!" Heck, the opportunity to interact with people with all ways of thinking is why it interests me in the first place.Rest assured, some of us still get satire.

Has anyone tested this with any other browser? How many other browsers crash?

I know I can't be the only one to bring this up. But there was a similar bug in Fire Fox that went unattended for close to 5 months.

I use Maxthon on my XP machines (XP SP2 IE6) and tried the link twice. Both times Max refused to open and stopped at 38% download. Also checked with Mozilla/Linux and of course no problem.

Are you damned serious? I care! Internet Explorer sucks and that's just about all there is to it. Firefox is a helluva lot better! :) Even Opera is not bad. I mean, it's okay, but it's rather complicated ... Firefox all ze way!
shewtceuteOct 26, 2007
Well, for one thing, I think that Firefox is better than Internet Explorer. Is there something wrong with wanting people to switch to Firefox? Face it, the reason that people use IE is because it comes with every single computer (with the exception of Macs). If every computer came with Firefox, no doubt there would be sites making people switch to IE, though I personally don't see why they would even go through the trouble for doing that.

Indeed ... Meh. Yea, I agree with dietCoke XDD Why post here if this is about people who want Firefox??
