Ready source of incomes and industries. Wind farms have been steadily cropping up across the state with little slow down in the process, save for the seasonal inconvenience. Sure, Texas has felt the pinch of this mess the banks got us into, but the state has a large number of credit unions and independent banking firms that don't have much in the mortgage column.The community I currently live in on the gulf coast has a AAA credit rating due to tight books and is currently planning expansion and road improvement.But the company I work for is national and has chimped down on their budget pretty tight. So anything that entails cash is fought with epic battles.
For the really slow and uninformed, the reason is that CA, MI and NY have been governed by liberal politicians. Particularly, MI has been ravaged by liberalism and is facing a depression.
