What are you talking about dude? Of course it will help Linux grow. We're not expecting that this people will flock to a Linux distro after buying a netbook with Linux preinstalled, they will be just using Linux and that is enough. But certainly it will help and some people will contemplate the idea to change OS, at least to consider it.Also, coming preinstalled in this netbooks people won't have to deal with hardware incompatibility on top of having technical support.
A few years ago, I bought a Fujitsu Lifebook that had Windows XP pre-installed. But after several reinstalls due to inevitable performance deterioration brought on by Windows XP code rot, I finally decided to install Ubuntu Hardy instead and I've never regretted it. My only hassle was that I had to perform a few custom tweaks to get my touch screen, screen rotate, and brightness keys working. Aside from that though, everything else worked right after the installation and not only is the laptop faster at everything, but the boot time is significantly shorter than Windows XP ever was.
"Linux is slightly better: less viruses, and less resources to run. The first of these two virtues will be destroyed once more users switch to Linux,"f**king, wrong.
