webdesignerdepot.com — Logo design in today’s world is totally under rated. People do not understand how important a good logo is and how valuable it is to their business. This article outlines the ways in which you should NOT go about getting your logo designed… that is, if you are truly serious about business.

Glad it worked out for you, but it's plainly obvious you have never checked out contests, and so I find it puzzling why you chose to discredit them like you did based solely on your preconceived notions.Contests would not only get you plenty of quality designs to choose from, but also interaction and iterations from a designer of your choosing, and do so at precisely your budget. In fact, based on a single sample from a promising designer, you can declare a single artist the winner, and continue with the iteration process through regular channels (email, face-to-face interaction, phone calls, etc...). Many do this, and many have been extremely happy with the result. As I mentioned, for actual professionals choosing to compete, contests serve as an advertising platform to let their skills shine.

Your friend has a 'degree in graphic design'? Once upon a time university was for higher learning.

But in the process you only paid for a successful logo while the others work was for nothing. This is the damaging part. You take no risk in design contests, instead it is the designer who takes the chance. This article not only argues for the quality of the logo, but the principle in which it is maintained.A fair way would be to commission multiple designers, pay them for their time, and then pick a finished logo from that.

Damn, you know, you're right. It's "Beauty" Salon, not "Booty" Salon (which is how I read it). I guess the logo still fails.

@RobotLeAwesome Good Job. But my logo was exported from a vector. So what was that? I'm going to have trouble? What? What business do you want?

This is never a situation that a chef wants to be in and it can be easily avoided by choosing the proper chef clothing.http://www.culinaryclassics.com

Disagree with the design contests. If the reward for a contest winner is like $400 and the contest is placed on a reliable website where the designers community is really good then you can have even stunning results.

Yeah i agree on that. Like a septic company here in Norway. Has a really catchy phrase, that says "We suck almost everything"
