Tony Bennett, among many other performers, has recently spoken out against the no radio pay for play, the industry has continued to use, to the detriment of numerous performers and artists, who have not written the songs they have made famous. When you look at the article, and see how the business side, of the music industry really works, then you see why Bennett and others of musicFIRST Coalition, are so against this business model, which is supported by NAB as well. This is like a movie made in Hollywood, with the screenwriter and the producer and director splitting the profits, while leaving the actors out of the profits. Don't get me wrong the actors did receive a contract, but they only get paid, after all the recoupement costs have been deducted, just like in the case of the artist who doesn't happen to write any lyrics or melody to his song.
