There was earlier article on digg that talked about new music being loud. It said (and I agree with this):"Music isn't meant to be at a consistent volume and flat frequency; it's meant to be dynamic, to move, to fall and rise and to take you with it, physically and emotionally. Otherwise it literally is just background noise ..."<a class="user" href="http://www.collisiondetection.net/mt/archives/2006/07/pull_out_a_viny.html">http://www.collisiondetection.net/mt/archives/2006/07/pull_out_a_viny.html</a>I don't think today's music has any emotional effect on people. Not even 'emo'. Dark Side of the Moon and other music from the era changed people's lives. The article is implying that getting high is a good thing, so for those who don't like older music, there is hope for you. Listen to better music, or just use Marijuana.
I feel the US and UK have molded music into a commentary of society and philosophy. Consider Dylan(and a lot of 60s era counter-culture music), Tool, Radiohead, Joplin, Pink Floyd, The Who, ET AL. The lack of major, pure, philosophers in our culture has left a void in our learning. We don't consider things the way Socrates, Plato, and their contemporaries did. We make up for it by enjoying the expression of thought-as apposed to the thought itself. One could even argue bubble gum pop is the equivalent of materialist philosophies. It could also be interpreted as a reflection of our culture--sort of a social barometer.
I listen to alot of music, like alternative, classic rock, rock, some gothic, pop,r N b,Rap i use to listen to classical but no so much..i don't listen to alot of country.I did my numberology the other night it said i should like listent o classical music to help with meditation all that jazz.I do beleive music makes the word go around..i couldn't live without it.Currently listening to Kanye West~through the wire
Pandora is great. I have been listening to it everyday as soon as I found out about it. Would also recommend Limewire, except you have to acually download songs.

I always thought it wasn't the music but the bad boy attitude the rock stars have. Some women get attracted to bad boys. I don't know why.
