afterdowningstreet.org — "You were obstructing the sidewalk!" and "I'm sick of this s***!" then he said, "Here's your 15 minutes of fame buddy!" I looked back to see his name plate and he said in a mean condescending tone, "Yea, that's 'Sergeant Riddle' get it right!" He then put me in Officer Crisp's police car...I was never read my Miranda rights--IsVoldermort in the US?

Corrupt police officers should get death sentences. That is a start...

No, but I've seen lots of highway signs on overpasses, especially in larger cities where the traffic is heavier. I don't see how a sign that diverts your attention to the far side of the road is any safer than a sign that is just above the road.

SO you are a fan of our Police State then. Raising awareness is powerful. Don't think that by blogging that people aren't becoming active.

I think that most people didn't get that, but I did ;)

Originally they were going to call Gulf War 2, Operation Iraqi Liberation. At least the acronym would have been telling the truth.

First of all, I love these idiots who think because everyone gets their Miranda Rights read to them on TV, it must be so in real life. They only need to read you your rights if they plan on asking you questions relating to the crime you are being arrested for or suspected of while you are in custody. So, them asking all those questions about veterans groups, while odd, doesn't violate his rights because it wasn't related to the arrest. And it wasn't a false arrest because he got arrested for a violation he was committing. It doesn't matter what his sign said, it was his blocking the sidewalk that was the offense. And for all we know, he does this all the time, so maybe there were complaints that we don't know about. I know Diggers hate cops, but there is always more to the story.

And for those saying that he didn't block the sidewalk, the ONLY person saying that is the guy who got arrested. This link here , http://www.citizen-times.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=200770816158, is basically them upgrading the charges to something stiffer. So, again, maybe there were complaints previous to this.
