damnlag.com — What has really been raising interest in soccer in the US and will continue to do so are EA Sports’ FIFA games. If they keep going at their current rate, I see soccer becoming a top three sport here within the next ten years.

Soccer isn't popular in USA because its not an American sport.Football - AmericanBaseball - AmericanBasketball - AmericanSoccer - Rest of the worldSame idea can be applied to hockey

mksound, the Stanley Cup series is usually put on CBS after game 3. Or at least it has been for the past couple years. But as for being on ESPN, they put the Spelling Bee on ESPN. They need to fill slots just like every other T.V. station.I mean hell, I'm watching the College Lacrosse Championship game on ESPN right now, that doesn't mean that is more popular than Hockey.Edit: It's on NBC tonight, then VS for the next 2 games, then back to NBC

Portuguese from Portugal, or Portuguese from Brazil (or another Portuguese speaking country in the Americas, such as Brazil)? It's well known that most South American countries have a problem with this colloquialism. When I said "rest of the world" I'm referring to "everybody but those from the Americas".

how does it make it "more unique" when it's really popular in more countries than American Football, Basketball, and Hockey.

regardless of your opinion about the united states, many countries including where your from probably wouldn't exist if it weren't for our great nation. so stfu and learn your history douche bag.PS: i am not even talking about our military or our government, I am talking about the people who were born here and invented machines and devices that with out you would never be able to evolve and progress.

Don't forget their recent upgrade, the Be-A-Pro mode. It is the most pumped up game mode ever, because it's all about teamwork. If someone f**ks up, everybody in the team is affected.

I know the alleged etymology but remind me how many football associations the world over use the term "soccer" in their title ?
