Product placement happens in movies, on Digg, in bars, in free software, in open source software, on social networking sites, in magazines, etc. Think music is anything different? Nothing new here, move along.
This news in MTV here makes the above article about Adam Kluger pale in comparisonIts all about money, even your own lyrics.. I am sure Pussy cat dolls dont write their own songs, and they would sing whtever comes there way and actually end up making a lot more money by way of including a 'big-mac' or a 'nike' or a 'chevy' in their song.Horrifying and yet understandable cos' these are the times we live in!
Who is to blame? digital file sharing has forced the musicians to scour for new revenue sources. Music is not the product anymore, it's the marketing. That's why Radiohead and many others are giving away their music for free or whatever price people want to pay. licensing deals, live events and "product placement" are where the money really is. http://www.forartssakemedia.com/when-art-meets-mar ...
