BLINK 182 - Blink 182 supposedly has NO meaning at all but the band fosters stories on origins. Sample: used to be just "Blink" but was threatened by a lawsuit from a little known Irish band with the same name, so they added the 182 which is the number of times the f-word was said in one of the members favorite movies.Scarface I do believe.

Funniest band name I have seen is "The Fred Mertz Experience".

"Echo & The Bunnymen (I think I knew this at one time, but forgot)"The original story went something to the effect that Echo was the name the band had given their drum machine and 'Bunnymen' was a name they had given themselves.According to a later biography, they said they just made up the name and liked it because it was just as stupid as 'Teardrop Explodes', their rival band at the time.

Nope, not British...I'm on the other side of the pond. My musical tastes are just all over the place, that's all. I like a bunch of different stuff.

Anyone British should know where Darling Buds and Soup Dragons got their names - from the book The Darling Buds of May and the childrens TV show The Clangers.

Nickelback: The bass player, Mike Krueger would always buy a coffee from a local coffee shop... It cost 1.95, he paid two bucks every day... Eventually the cashier gave him the name "Nickelback" and it got put into the band name

yeah naming is a difficult thing. My friend just decided to stick with his original name. He has a new site at www.robinbaileyonline.co.uk. You may also like my buddies rap music. You can find him on myspace. He is called aggi dukes. He has changed his name several times.
