I sure am glad 17 USC §117 makes this legal. When it talks about the "owner" of the computer program I am pretty sure it is the copyright owner of the content, not the owner of the physical media.

IF any of you people take a few secs to take a look at how a dvd drive is made/works then you would see that as the tray is retraced into the drive the traverse mech (which is the optic assy' and spin motor) move up and clamps the disk to the spin motor, there is a few ways that it can scratch your disks but all are faults and need to be looked at. As you probably guess by the text that yes i am a tech and no you should not move your unit while it is running is not advised as its spinning at hi speed and you will get an off ballance flywheel affect.I hope this helps the convo..
