It's been a really long time since I've said this but The White House is right on this one. This bill should be vetoed, it is too broad and allows for the protection of individuals leaking classified information. Classified information is just that, classified, there should be no legal shield against those committing treason. Read the bill in full and see if it doesn't strike you as a poorly worded overly broad piece of legislation.
Secrecy is a necessary component of any government? What is your litmus test for justifiable secrecy? The government told me I don't need to worry about it, so I don't need to worry about it? Hello? McFly? I bet you're one of those fools that doesn't understand that you are just as much a part of the government as Congress or the President. We live in a republic where WE, the PEOPLE, GRANT the government PRIVILEGES. I want to know what's going on at EVERY level because what my ELECTED officials do reflects back on my family, my friends, me. If my elected officials refused transparency, then I commend the person who forces it on them, because we are all on a need-to-know basis. I don't know about you, but I'm tired of being in the dark!

That is good news. I am a journalist now.
