politico.com — Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats adjourned the House and turned off the lights and killed the microphones, but Republicans are still on the floor talking gas prices...reporters were kicked out of the Speaker's Lobby, the space next to the House floor where they normally interview lawmakers. "You're not covering this, are you?"

I don't want offshore drilling. I want alternative fuels and new technologies. However, the debate should have continued. Our legal representatives should not go on vacation during a contentious debate.-Pie

If you want higher gas prices, elect another Republican. It's that simple.

Not even close, that's totally wrong. ''C-SPAN is a private, non-profit company, created in 1979 by the cable television industry as a public service. Our mission is to provide public access to the political process. C-SPAN receives no government funding; operations are funded by fees paid by cable and satellite affiliates who carry C-SPAN programming.''

I wonder which point you are critiquing. The Department of Energy's own reports say that there will be a very small impact on the price of oil if we drill offshore. Data from the DoE and other oil research institutes provide data demonstrating what percentage of the world's oil we use and what portion is projected to be locked up in our offshore fields verses what is locked up in other countries. If we were to go on facts, we should invade Canada. They have a large percentage of the world's oil resources, they have a stable economy and friendly people. This would have a direct impact on oil prices. Raising them.
