There's no such thing as an independent thought on the internet. 10 years from now, all of our brains will have merged into one huge supermind that thinks of nothing but sneezing pandas and hamsters on pianos. And porn.

@mcritz: What are you smoking?Check out the exchange rate between the Yen and the Dollar. The Japanese economy has been booming for the last few years, but the Yen has been flat against the tanking value of the dollar, which keeps exports cheaper. It's the Japanese government's end-run around subsidies. Also, foreign companies don't pay corporate taxes here - the parent companies manipulate the price of the cars and parts purchased from the American holding companies they wholly own, so that the profits go to the parent company. Tariffs on parts are next to nothing. The US based holding company, who would pay corporate taxes, never shows a profit to tax.

Aerodynamics don't play that much of a role in vehicle efficiency until you hit freeway speeds, and then it's only minimal. Weight is more important to fuel economy and performance until you hit around 100MPH. Under 100MPH, the slope of the roof and the leading edge of the hood are the only places aerodynamics really matter.

Also agreed. It's great that it's powered by a fuel cell system- be that as it may, if any of you have any taste in autos, you'll notice it reeks of 1997 Japanese concepts. I'll consider myself dugg down.
