Finland used to be a Internet-forerunner until the telecommunications companies joined in on the fun and started profiteering...

Already? We have an ISP in Sweden that have provided 100Mbit fiber for a while now for like 200 SEK a month. Just sad that single houses can't get it. Only big apartment buildings. The most popular connection in Sweden right now is ADSL. Up to 28 Mbit downstream.

I have 100mbps (100 both up and downlink) included in my rent at my Swedish student house along with nearly a thousand other students living around here. About 150 SEK ($20 US) a month of my rent pays for it and I've had it for four years now. I honestly don't see why this is "news" on the front page of Digg. Also, 1Gbps links are availiable at other houses for about $100 a month. A bit expensive, but good for servers.
