Not a bad review but there is other products out there as well. I found this <a class="user" href="http://www.startlivinggreen.org/earth4energy.html">http://www.startlivinggreen.org/earth4energy.html</a>This site seems to have the top 4 products.

Homemade Energy is a scam. The instructions are useless, vague and incomplete. You could not build anything from their instructions. Do not waste your money. And don't believe their "60 day money back guarantee" because they won't give my money back and they won't answer my emails. And the worst part is I've only found two "somewhat" negative reviews on the net for this product. Almost everything I read says what a great product it is. It is crap. They've never actually read it, I promise.

Dogpiler is right. I ordered and though I am very handy, could not follow and found instructions blanked out where clarity was needed. I asked for my money back and they told me no, and to buy another product--- that would clarify the first one Please do not buy this....you will throw away 49.95.

Hi dogpiler... I've been scammed by one of these before but its easy to get your money back... All you have to do is contact the company who processed the payment and put through a complaint. They will immediately organise to refund your money at their expense...They have to do this as they are supposed to be offering a these payment facilities to legit companies... good luck...

This is a big scam. There were no diagrams, no pictures, no way that anyone could figure out how to build a solar panel or a wind turbine unless you were completely techy yourself in which case you wouldn't need a manual. The ebook is just a general rehash of what you can find out far cheaper on the web for free.I asked for a refund (they supposedly have a 60 day guarantee listed) and the first time he responded saying that he was sorry about the poor quality and would I please wait to get the new manual. Then I said, no, I wouldn't wait, the product wasn't as advertised and I wanted my money back. Well I have yet to hear anything and they have not refunded my money. SCAM. And the sites which say they are reviewing this and it is great are SCAMS AS WELL. They are probably collecting affiliate fees for their reviews. BUYER BEWARE.

This review seems fake. For one, what's top-review.org? There's no home page, and from what I can tell it only exists to show this one review from "Gary." It also seems suspicious that the top-review.org and homemadeenergy.org domains are registered the same way.

Thanks for the detailed review.

The review has a direct link to order the ebook. In my mind, it is clearly fake - just set up to dupe unsuspecting people into thinking they were reading an impartial review, then making a sale. Avoid it like the plague!

This is just like Earth4Energy and it is a scam. The e-book is bad on two levels -- the material is so vague and incomplete that it is useless and secondly, even if the material was good, their claims are impossible. Here is a real review of this kind of scam <a class="user" href="http://www.nlcpr.com/Deceptions6.php" rel="nofollow">http://www.nlcpr.com/Deceptions6.php</a> . Another one I come across is Agua Luna. <a class="user" href="http://www.nlcpr.com/Deceptions7.php" rel="nofollow">http://www.nlcpr.com/Deceptions7.php</a> I can't tell if they are criminals or lunatics.

If you used a credit card to order and you returned the merchandise or want to return it and the company doesn't respond, just dispute the charges with the credit card company. Make sure you provide detailed information

Before buying any of these publications, check the price of PV cells from a reputable supplier, muliply the output in watts per cell by the cost per PV cell and number of cells required for desired output. If you can't do the arithmetic, then you definitely shouldn't buy the book, if the cost seems worth it then there are several how to's on youtube. Another warning, I got burned buying crappy PV's on eBay.

Reputable businesses ALWAYS have some information about who they are, where they are located and how to contact them (even a voice-prompt automated 800 number is better than nothing). Even if you could source parts for free, then there are building codes and the insurance companies to comply with. Unless you are a roofer and/or an electrician, installation is always a challenge and a serious issue. If you are interested in DIY alternative energy, then start small - 12v/24v 50/100W to charge a small battery bank to run DC lighting and communications equipment. Maybe use a small inverter to convert to 120v AC, but only for low power consumers on an isolated circuit. NOT to run your whole house.

That is not the way the material was represented. Your initial sales pitch focused on installing panels on a home that anyone could do, not building a single panel. Your materials is extremely basic instructions; much is missing as to mounting/racking system, inverters, disconnects, permitting process etc. You claim to be an electrician so you are familiar with CA codes, Edison procedures etc. That is the reason I trusted you! In order for someone to install such a system, much much more information is required. I am a licensed GC with a 4 year degree in Construction Management; I built my own 5,400 SF home. I performed every trade from concrete to finish trades including all work associated with a 400 amp service, wiring, Lutron lighting system/smart home, etc.
I would like a refund per your 60 day refund policy.
