news.bbc.co.uk — "...thousands of Indian soldiers who had joined Britain in the fight against fascism swapped their oaths to the British king for others to Adolf Hitler - an astonishing tale of loyalty, despair and betrayal that threatened to rock British rule in India, known as the Raj."

Considering the thousands of men who sacrificed to put an end to Hitlers madness, I would say YES they knew what a monster he was in the 40's. And considering the information about the final solution and other practices that came into light after the war, anyone in modern day who thinks Hitler was OK is at best an idiot. And Boo Hoo about English colonialism in India it came and ended as it should have. India is better off for having gone through it. They would not be able to take American jobs if it were not for those English accents.

True, The only reason why I got mighty pissed is because the BBC published half baked info. It is/was not really India's fault for aligning with Hitler. Remember, India was fighting for freedom too. And considering the fact that assh**e Mountbatten was more intent on dividing India, You gotta realize how that makes people feel.
