I have two of these exact drives from Outpost. One in an Xbox, and one in a PC. Works great for me, and both rebates went smooth.

160 gig isn't enough to waste an ATA channel on.

HDD brand loyalty is for noobs.

Agreed, and that is not a small rebate either. The rebate amount is more than you may end up paying for the drive (if you get the rebate).

Well if it means anything I've had nothing but problems with Seagate drives crashing. I have two of these Hitachi drives running now without error. I find in general Hitachi makes pretty high quality hardware, but I do always hesitate to trust too much in a brand.

A rebate is better than no rebate. If you can show us a deal that's close to this, but without a rebate, I'm all for it. Otherwise, just pass on it. I've never had a problem with rebates, lucky I guess.

They are out of stock, it seems. I just got an email after ordering this morning."Please note that the item(s) listed below have been removed from your order per your request to Customer Service, or because the item is no longer available."
