Site is down (at the moment) so can't read the article. But I will say that aside from this there has been a tremendous amount of wasted money from the stimulus. It is sad really, like racking up already high credit card debt to buy things you don't need or really even want. For us tax payers it is like someone else racking up our debt and having no say in it.

She paid off her debt for her campaign that she owed Penn with OUR money!

FTA:"Federal records show that $5.97 million from the $787 billion stimulus helped preserve three jobs at Burson-Marsteller, the global public-relations and communications firm headed by Penn."Well, that's only two million dollars per job. Seems reasonable to me.

Wow, do Republicans revel in their intellectual incuriosity? As the article said, most of the money went to media buys. This means that money went to the networks, local TV stations, etc. It does not mean $6 million went into the pocket of a single guy. And ohnoes - he worked for Hillary.Buried.

True but is this any worse than just basically giving Halliburton no bid contracts worth hundreds of billions? Seems as if both sides of the aisle are just as screwed up! I want 7 or 8 parties in our government, not just 2 powerful ones!

Right now the governments health task force recommendations arent binding. if the health care monstrosity goes through it will be. They will set up national guidelines.. like no mamograms till 50 and then nobody can get them in an order to cut gov cost. Your doctor will have nothing to do with it. Breadfred, you deserve obamacare.

You are right, but good luck getting through the thick skull of willful amoralists.

OK, why exactly is the government taking my money to pay for media buys?

This would have 2000 diggs already if it was a republican.

These types of strings are truly getting old. When you decide to drink the koolaide of either party (join their team), it skews opinions on a lot of thinks. Ration begins to slip away. Many comments here reflect this by analogies and views merely held because this might look bad for Dems. Same happens with the other side. If there is corruption, it should be reviewed with appropriate sanctions where applicable. To think either has a hold on good management of money, ethical behavior, etc is just foolish. Now, bring me my 'third party' of government so we no longer have the Our Side Is Good, Your Side is Evil thing so much.

So the won a competitive bid contract. I don't see the problem here. It was a company they used before, and they got rehired by a competitive bid.... I still don't see the problem here. You don't ever use the same company twice? As opposed to a non-bid contract, that "accidentally" billed the government for more than the contract was worth. Also their list of "Waste" just shows the complete ignorance of the GOP. These aren't necessarily waste, they can all lead to improvements in infrastructure or science. Science must sometimes do what to everyone else seems totally unrelated to find the answers. Who would have known that studying bread mold would give us penicillin- people probably called that waste also.
